Rat Control Solutions on Cape Cod & Plymouth County!rats on the cape

In the wild, rats are not social creatures by any means. Wild rats will opt to run away from humans if escape is possible. These types of rats only come into the presence of humans if they sense food is nearby. so it is important that your food is stored properly. Wild rats prefer isolation and will congregate with other rats purely for mating purposes. If trapped in corners, rats will become incredibly hostile and will fight their way out if possible.

Wild rats can grow to lengths of between 11 to 12 inches. However, in the wild, most rats don't live long enough to reach their full growth potential. Most wild rats can reach a length of 9 to 10 inches. Wild rats are also wirier than domesticated rats since they are not constantly fed by humans.

Rat Nests

rat and rodent controlRats are quite clever in the sense that they will adapt to whatever situation they may encounter. When it comes to the dwelling habits of a rat, you can find evidence of a rats' nest, rat burrow or rat hole, depending on what was easiest to achieve.

Rats are capable of building their nests aboveground as well. Rat nests can be found in trees, attics, and areas that are overgrown with vines or shrubbery. Rats can also be found inside walls, cabinetry or hollow ceilings. Because they prefer to travel aboveground, roof rats will rarely dig a burrow for their nest if a better option is available.
